Two weeks of rounding studies

A quick post before break...here are the rounding studies I've been doing in class for the past two weeks. There is one more that I finished yesterday that I haven't photographed yet, I'll post that later. Right now we are off to Ile de Re for a few days of much needed vacation. Enjoy!

A week's worth of Gary

Last week our model had to fly back to the States unexpectedly, so Gary filled in as our portrait model (and did very well sitting still, except for nodding off once or twice).

Pear, 4"x4", Oil on Wood Panel

This is a quick little painting I did on my day off today. We are going to be doing rounding studies this week, so I wanted to warm up today by practicing rounding the forms of the pear. It didn't come out as great as I had hoped, but it's a start.

First Drawing of Juan Michael

This is the first longer drawing I've done in class. I think we worked on this for 12 hours or so? I can't remember - my brain is a blur of information right now.

More Poster Studies

Here are some more poster studies I've done in the past couple of weeks. I have put some of these up on Etsy to sell. I'm hoping to be able to raise the money to extend my stay here in France through the fall, so if you know anyone looking for some art, send them my way!

A week of poster studies

This is my first week's worth of poster studies from class here at Studio Escalier in Argenton-Chateau, France. There were some rough spots, but I feel like I'm improving. I've decided to make this "the summer of the poster study". I'm determined to really work to improve my poster vision.
