Sunday Painting Marathon!
Two posts in one day! I posted the underpainting, then went on an all day painting spree (it's like a killing spree with less casualties) and this is where I left off. Form painting is like crack. I couldn't stop. I kept coming back for more. I painted for six hours straight. So. fun.
Self Portrait - underpainting, day 3 - FINISHED!
Just finished the underpainting, so I wanted to post it so I can start the second pass this afternoon. Not super happy with it, but I'll fix it up in the second pass.The problem I find with underpainting is that I get so excited about doing the second pass that I start slopping paint down to get the underpainting over with, which kind of defeats the purpose of doing the underpainting in the first place...

Another Self Portrait in Progress
Here is the preliminary drawing and quick paint study for the self portrait I'm working on. Both pretty rough, but it's a start. Wearing a winter hat, hoodie, and fur lined vest is a way better idea than going naked!The painting study is 2.5" x 3.5" and the drawing is 5"x7". The final painting will be 5"x7". Wish me luck!
