My First Lucid Dream

This is yet another project I did for my motivation group. The theme was "My first lucid dream", and I based this painting on a recurring nightmare I had as a child in which I watched my dad get kidnapped by bandits in the desert. I decided to try my hand at pointillism for this, since I am a huge Seurat and Lemmen fan, and I thought it would be an appropriate style for the subject matter. Oh - and this is officially my smallest painting ever - 2"x3"!

Figure Study of Jennifer

This is an unfinished figure study I did at Studio Escalier last fall.

Portrait of Vicki (in progress)

This is the portrait I have been working on one day a week for the past few months. It is slow going, but I am starting to enjoy it...

Poster Study of Vicki

This is the preliminary study I did for the portrait I am working on. Sorry it's taken me so long to post - this weekend has been the first chance I've had to take photos outside. Hopefully our days of torrential rain are over!

Show at Warwick Art Museum!

The Providence Art Motivation Group's show opens this Tuesday, April 10th. It is a multi-media extravaganza exclusively featuring members of our group, and it should be a great show! The reception will be this Friday, April 13th, from 7pm to 9pm. Hope to see you there! Check out www.warwickmuseum.org for info!

Self-Portrait as Pregnant Woman

This is another project I did for my Art Motivation Group. The theme was "the egg". Since I didn't manage to find a pregnant model in time, I used myself. No, I am not actually pregnant! Again, I am still struggling with taking decent photos - if and when I ever manage to take better ones, I will update all of these posts. Until then, you will all just have to suffer....
